Mid-century homes, golf communities and Plantation Acres
Plantation's original neighborhoods are full of mid-century ranch homes that have been renovated and expanded over the decades. It is common to find a hip roof on the original house, a low-slope roof over a Florida room and a different pitch over a garage conversion. A reroof is the chance to bring those sections together as one watertight system.
Older homes can also have plank decking and framing details that differ from modern construction, so the deck should be evaluated once the old roof is removed. Current code can require upgrades to how the deck is fastened during a replacement.
Jacaranda, Plantation Isles and Park East feature later single-family homes, largely under concrete tile, while Lauderdale West offers association-managed villas for active adults. Out west, Plantation Acres has larger lots where guest houses, workshops and horse barns sit alongside custom homes, each with its own roof to maintain.
