Roofing in Royal Palm Beach, Florida

Royal Palm Beach was incorporated as a village in 1959 and has grown into a suburban community in central Palm Beach County, between West Palm Beach and Wellington. Canals and lakes wind through many of its neighborhoods, and large parks such as Royal Palm Beach Commons give the village an open, green feel.

Housing here is mostly single-family homes and townhomes built from the 1970s through the 2000s, a mix of original village neighborhoods and later planned communities with their own associations.

Global Roofing & Contracting serves Royal Palm Beach from its East Coast office in Pembroke Pines. A free inspection, EagleView measurements and a detailed Xactimate estimate come first, so you can compare roof systems side by side before choosing one.

Established subdivisions, lake communities and newer HOAs

Established neighborhoods such as La Mancha and Crestwood include many concrete block homes with shingle roofs, along with some flat and barrel tile. At replacement time, owners often weigh dimensional shingle against tile, standing-seam metal or stone-coated steel, balancing budget, appearance and how long they plan to stay.

Planned communities such as Madison Green are more uniformly tile, and their associations typically specify approved colors and profiles. Because homes in these communities were built in phases, many roofs reach replacement age at roughly the same time.

Lakefront lots are common throughout the village. The junction where a screen enclosure or porch roof ties into the house is a frequent leak point, and it deserves attention during any inspection or replacement.

Inland, but not sheltered

Royal Palm Beach sits well inland, so salt air is much less of a concern than on the coast. The tradeoffs are different: open lakes, parks and fields give storm winds long runs, and summer thunderstorms building over the western county often arrive with heavy rain, lightning and strong gusts.

The village is in Palm Beach County, outside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, but design wind speeds across the county are high. Roofs are permitted to the Florida Building Code's wind requirements for approved products, underlayment and attachment, with permits handled through the village.

Tornadoes are an inland risk that is easy to overlook. During Hurricane Milton in October 2024, tornadoes touched down in Palm Beach County, and even a brief tornado can strip shingles or tiles from homes far from a storm's center.

FAQ

Royal Palm Beach Roofing Questions.

Can’t find what you’re looking for? Call 239-653-9703 (Naples) or 954-889-2201 (Pembroke Pines), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Is shingle or tile the better roof for a Royal Palm Beach home?

Either can be the right choice. Dimensional shingle typically costs less up front and suits many of the village's older homes, while concrete tile and standing-seam metal usually offer a longer service life and a different look. Association rules, budget and how long you plan to stay should guide the decision.

Does salt air matter for roofs in Royal Palm Beach?

Much less than on the coast. Royal Palm Beach is well inland, so corrosion of fasteners and flashing is slower than on barrier islands. The bigger concerns here are hurricane wind, summer thunderstorms, intense sun that ages shingles and underlayment, and occasional tornadoes spun off by passing storms.

Is Royal Palm Beach in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone?

No. Only Miami-Dade and Broward counties are in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, and Royal Palm Beach is in Palm Beach County. Roofs in the village still must meet the Florida Building Code's wind design requirements, which govern approved products, underlayment and how shingles, tile and metal are attached.

Do Royal Palm Beach HOAs restrict roof choices?

Many do. Planned communities such as Madison Green typically require architectural approval and specify tile colors and profiles, while some older neighborhoods have few or no association rules. Check your community's documents first, and have product specifications and samples ready if a review committee needs them.

How do I schedule a roof inspection in Royal Palm Beach?

Call Global's East Coast office at 954-889-2201, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is at 1931 NW 150th Avenue, Suite 201, in Pembroke Pines and serves Broward and Palm Beach counties. Inspections are free, carry no obligation and take place at your Royal Palm Beach home.

What should I do if a tornado or storm damages my Royal Palm Beach roof?

Stay safe, limit further water entry, then have the roof inspected. Global can provide emergency services such as tarping, document the damage and prepare a detailed estimate. Global can meet with your insurance adjuster when needed, but your insurer makes the coverage decisions. Call 954-889-2201 during business hours.
